The G-Star Raw brand was launched in 1989 within the Dutch city of Amsterdam. They were originally generally known as Gap Star but changed their name soon after launch as they believed it had a more international feel. In 1996 G-Star launched their Raw denim concept to critical acclaim. The idea behind the road was simple yet ground breaking, they died the denim cotton as normal through the manufacturing process, then again sold the jeans since they somewhat than treating them with preserving agents. This meant that upon washing the jeans consumers would understand the colour change and the jeans shrink, they invented the name Raw since the jeans were essentially raw untreated products.
The brand is revolutionary having its jeans collection and uses stitching, extra pockets and buttons to present each style an incredibly unique look, a number of other denim brands have tried to copy their styles but never have come near the originality while focusing of G-Star jeans.
